Happy New Year
May I start by wishing everyone a Happy New Year!! I genuinely believe this year will be really exciting and productive for everyone involved in Cambridge K1.
On the business side, Stephen and I have been briefing Cambridge City Council members and senior officers on progress so far. We sense there is a real desire for the scheme to proceed, though recognition that there is plenty to do.
Following the continued marketing campaign and media coverage, a number of new people have expressed an interest in the project which is great news. As of today, we have 23 people who have registered an interest in the project – good news.
There are now a series of tasks to be completed and pulled together which will conclude in a report to Cambridge City Council at the end of February. To start things off I am holding a site visit/tour on SUNDAY 15 January at 11.00am on site followed by a meet and greet. This is followed later in the week with a Foundation Group meeting planned for THURSDAY 19 January at 4.30pm at CAR’s office in Gwydir Street. A number of people have confirmed attendance on 15th January and it will provide an ideal chance to see the site and ask questions about the project.
Work is progressing on the planning brief for the site from South Cambs. Also early discussions with some ethical lenders is proving fruitful.
Overall Stephen and I feel that progress is being made and this is a very encouraging start to 2012.
